Blue365 from Blue Cross/Blue Shield

I've been writing a lot about needing a makeover in all aspects of my life. Yes, I run. Yes, I try to eat well. Still, I've been stagnant. I feel like I'm constantly looking for ways to start fresh again in all aspects of my life, really, and the change of seasons is always a huge motivator for me to get moving.
At least in New York, the heat and humidity is finally behind us for good! And Fall, the great season of change, is a wonderful time to get into a refreshed healthy routine. So, when BlogHer offered us the opportunity to check out Blue365®, a national program offered by the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association to members of participating Blue Cross and/or Blue Shield Companies. Blue365® is a health deals program we can join through our Blue Company, so we jumped on it.
Blue365 offers savings on a wide selection of things related to health, from fitness and nutrition to medical care and more. Stuff like discounts on Lasik surgery to weight loss programs, gym memberships to buying club memberships, fitness clothing/gear to medical bracelets. I think you get the idea.
You all know how big I am on deals these days -- so the opportunity to gain access to savings on so many things related to our healthy lifestyle is helpful.
OK. More than helpful. I appreciate any deal I can get.
In my life right now, it's time for new running shoes. I usually buy them in the spring and in the Fall. So, for my introduction to Blue365, I took advantage of the 20% off Reebok gear deal. I bought running shoes that were already on sale -- added the discount -- and they ended up costing less than half of what I usually would spend.
There wasn't any mention of expedited shipping as an added benefit, but my shoes came very quickly -- like two days after I ordered them. I took full advantage and laced them up for a speedy test run that very afternoon. I'll be the first to admit that new gear gets me excited and moving when I'm in a funk. I know I'm not alone.
I'm excited to keep checking Blue365 to see what new companies and services offer deals on the site. Basically, I have always thought of health insurance as something I use only when I get sick. I think it's pretty fantastic that the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association has now also helped me in my own preventative care, staying fit and active. Full circle!
You can sign up -- FREE -- for Blue365 by visiting http://blue365deals.com/. (Note: If your Blue Company isn't yet eligible for Blue365 deals, you can still sign up and be notified when your Blue Company joins the Blue365 movement.)
