Weekend Things

>> Friday, May 3, 2013

I write a heck of a lot, but I'm getting back into reading more, too. In the next couple months, you'll see a few book reviews here on the blog. Last night, I dove into this great read . . .

// Books + Cookbooks //
Forrest Pritchard's Gaining Ground will be released later this month.
Jenny Corenco's Bébé Gourmet was just released yesterday.
And Miche Bacher's Cooking with Flowers is calling to me in this nice weather.
(More on these titles soon!)

// Say Cheese! //
Stephen has his beer brewing. I was going to do kombucha, but we know how that went.
So, now I want to try making cheese. Mozzarella to start -- this recipe looks easy enough!

// Fitness in the Interim //
After the half marathon, I'm thinking of mixing stuff up before marathon training.
Getting into at-home spinning + swimming (our pool is fixed!) + maybe 30-day Shred.
Overall, I want to avoid getting bored with logging mile after mile.

// A Not-So Fast //
After our reader question about juice fasting, I have been curious.
I may also try a modified juice cleanse for a few days to see what it's like.
Anyone know of good plans that incorporate clean eating and/or full dinners?

// Cinco De Mayo Eats //
I'm not big on roundup posts, but here are some festive recipes:

// Fashion Finds //
All-time favorite Teva Flip-Flops + bright Bib Necklaces
Organic graphic printed duds for the little ones, too!

// Picking Paint //
We're 95% sure we're getting our house painted this summer.
It's so hard choosing exterior colors! But I think we've settled on this classic scheme.
Any idea when Sherwin-Williams is having another sale?

// In the News //
Generally, I love keeping up with what's on Mother Earth News
6 Super Foods in Season Now (via Huffington Post)

// DIY Inspiration //
Hanging framed succulent garden via Luna-See
Colorful garden stakes via Katy Harper
Pretty Tea Towels via Lana Red Studio

And here's what you may have missed this week on Writing Chapter Three -- simple and inexpensive coat storage, a family update, our spring bucket list + more!

Have a great weekend!
